This Monday (15), Sevilla announced that they have signed Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri on loan for the rest of the season.

The announcement was made on the team’s Instagram account. Hannibal was expected to be in Tunisia’s squad at the Africa Cup of Nations, but decided to be out of the tournament to secure his club future.

Other clubs expressed interest in the midfielder, including Everton, but he has opted to join Sevilla. The deal is understood to be worth £17.2m, and has an option to buy the player in the summer for £14m plus a further £3m in add-ons.
Manchester United extended Hannibal’s contract by a year (until 2025) earlier this month, to protect his value in the transfer market. The midfielder has made 10 appearances for United this season. The club shared an Instagram post wishing good luck to the midfielder.
