Red Bull said that it has started an investigation, and that it took the allegations “extremely seriously”. Horner says that he “completely denies” the allegations. The team hasn’t confirmed the nature of the complaint, but according to BBC Sport, the claims relate to an allegation of inappropriate behavior of a controlling nature.

In a statement Red Bull said: “After being made aware of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation. This process, which is already under way, is being carried out by an external specialist barrister. The company takes these matters extremely seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as practically possible. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time”.

Horner has been Red Bull’s team principal since their F1 debut in 2005, winning seven drivers’ championships and six constructors’ championships with the team. He has been married to Spice Girl Geri Halliwell since 2015.
