In a message sent by X (formerly Twitter), Hillary Clinton praised their performance in Barbie and said:

“Greta & Margot, while it can sting to win the box office but not take home the gold, your millions of fans love you. You’re both so much more than Kenough. #HillaryBarbie”.

As a result, the non-nomination of Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig outraged fans of the film Barbie. Co-star America Ferrera, who will compete for Best Supporting Actress, also protested: “I’m very disappointed.”

“Greta did everything a director needs to do to be worthy of the nomination,” concluded Ferrera.

Furthermore, Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken and was nominated for best supporting actor, also expressed his dissatisfaction with the non-nomination of Greta and Margot.

“But there is no Ken without Barbie, and there is no Barbie film without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the two people most responsible for this historic and globally celebrated film.”

The Oscar winners will be revealed on March 10th.
